Overview

The Bay Shore High School Business Department prepares students to become innovative thinkers, ethical leaders, and career-ready professionals by providing engaging, real-world learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to today's global economy. Through a comprehensive curriculum in business, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, computer science, and information technology, students develop the academic, technical, and professional skills necessary for success in college, careers, and beyond.

As part of the district's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, students may complete a New York State-approved five-credit Business Sequence, which satisfies the requirements for a Regents Diploma and may be used in lieu of the Language Other Than English requirement for an Advanced Regents Diploma. Students are encouraged to explore courses that align with their interests while developing critical thinking, communication, financial literacy, digital citizenship, and problem-solving skills.

Instruction extends beyond the classroom through project-based learning, industry partnerships, guest speakers, field experiences, business simulations, and opportunities to earn professional certifications and college credit. Students leave the program prepared to pursue careers in business, finance, marketing, accounting, entrepreneurship, technology, and computer science.
